City of Tigard Podcast: “From the elderly to families and individuals, the Tualatin Food Pantry has become a vital lifeline, providing nourishment and hope to those facing challenging times. Danielle Schneider, executive director of the Tualatin Food Pantry, joins us to share how support from the community, including grant funding from the City of Tigard, is helping them meet the increasing need in the area.”

We envision a community where everyone is nourished.

Founded in October 2004, the Tualatin Food Pantry is a community organized food pantry that serves residents of Tualatin, Durham, Lake Oswego, West Linn, and Wilsonville. Clients are able to access emergency foods boxes with up to five days’ worth of food and personal supplies twice per month. One Saturday per month, a bonus food market allows clients to access a third distribution of food supplies.

As a partner agency of the Oregon Food Bank, we work together to eliminate hunger and ensure food access. TFP has a small team of staff and relies on a dedicated team of volunteers for our daily operations. TFP is grateful to the in-kind support of Rolling Hills Church for reduced rent, but is not formally affiliated with the church and does not have any religious participation requirements to receive services. Any person experiencing food insecurity within our service area is welcome.

Our Founders

It all began with Mike Shiffer, Linda Moholt and Kay Nelson (now Gooding) who led a group of dedicated individuals to start a food pantry in the old Tualatin School. Featured in the Oregonian in 2004, the pantry celebrated an official ribbon cutting in 2009 after moving from the old Tualatin Elementary School to our current location at Rolling Hills Community Church.
